Where Does True Success Come From?
Ok. Now that we have an overview of our vision statement to Go NOW And . . . together with the idea of the stages of change that a person will naturally go through when considering Christ, now what do we do? For the next several sermons we will be looking at the stages of change and the stimuli of the statement from Ellen While about where true success comes from.
Doing so, my hope and prayer is that you will be able to see yourself living the very actions that will make a transformation change in the people you come in contact with. A great impact on lives is the goal. Remember, the first stage of change is pre-contemplation. Connected with this reality is the stimulus of mingling with people. How, what, and why should we mingle are the questions we will discuss in our time together.
C. S. Lewis once state this profound thought, “Don’t shine so that others can see you. Shine so that, through you, others can see Him.” We will learn principles that will help your mingling with people shine so that people can see Him! Remember that principles will inform your practice. Therefore having a clear understanding of the principles of mingling will help you practice things that will be redemptive and not destructive.
Mel Lawrenz, a Christian thought contributor, once stated, “The only enduring influence we have to offer others is the influence God has in our own lives.” Thinking deeply on this thought, one is led to understand that your person relationship with Jesus will make a significant difference in the lives of all those you come in contact with. I desire to make an impact for good, I hope you do as well.
So, as you listen to the sermon thought today, (Milton church), take notes, think things through, and most importantly . . . apply that which is necessary for you to apply. It’s time to put our vision for our church to work. It’s time to Go NOW And . . . MINGLE!
So, until the next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thought do change lives!

For several months this year, our church has been privileged to have the ministry and passion of Pastor Brandon Zorer. In our time together as a church family, I am hopeful that we all have learned from each other. What, you may ask, have we learned? We have learned: about God, about a desire to…

Since I’ve been listening to Christian radio, in particular, Positive Life Radio, they have been playing this song . . . “The overwhelming, never-ending reckless love of God. It chases me down. Fight ’til I’m found. Leaves the ninety-nine. I couldn’t earn it. I don’t deserve it. Still, you give yourself away . . .” By…

The Bible shares this thought, “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” – Isa. 49:15-16 KJV. While…

I know. You read the title for the sermon (Yahweh War!) and thought, “What could Pastor Tello possibly be talking about?” How does one reconcile those two words with the thought of a loving and patient God? I know. We are covering a very difficult subject today for our sermon thought. We are on the…

Once a quarter, here at the Milton Adventist church, we celebrate communion. What is communion? It’s your opportunity to have a close encounter with God! As a boy, I was raised in the Catholic church. However, we were not regular church goers. So, the experience of God in church was not part of my upbringing.…

Many years ago, when I was younger and more foolish, I remember an experience that reminded me of an action movie. I was late. I needed to be at an appointment in Manhattan, NY. As I was driving down the FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive). I got off at the appropriate exit for…

Bob Marley once stated, “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” There have been many times in my life when pain has been an expended visitor to my life. Times in which I desired to not hurt, to not feel pain, to move past the reality of what I…

A few weeks ago, on the church sign by the highway, I shared with our community a quotation that stated, “Without music, life would be a mistake.” Have you ever wondered why this is true? What is it about music that when its present in our lives . . . makes a huge difference? When…

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, I posted a Telegram on Facebook saying, “If you don’t overcome your tendency to give up easily, your life will lead to nothing.” – Masutatsu Oyama. This truism was brought to my attention by my wrestling coach at the gym where I’ve been training. He brought out the fact that…

There are three major existential questions asked by mankind since the dawn of creation, actually, since the fall of mankind: Who am I? Where did I come from? and Where am I going? What is it about these questions that cause the heart of mankind to search for answers? Why do many go on extensive pilgrimages…

Fathers. A word that has many meanings. A word that creates many emotions. Some good. Some bad. Some horrible. Since the beginning of time, fathers have had their roles in society. A foundation. . .this is how important it is. When I pastored in Wyoming, I was told a story of a pastor who rushed to purchase property in Cody, WY. The land was cheap, however, one needed to be careful where you purchased land. Not all land is equal! Throwing caution to the wind, he…

The Bible says, “For God so loved the world . . .” John 3:16a. Fundamentally, we know and realize that God loves us. However, does He “like” us? While in Seminary, I read a book for class that had to do with the impact of familial relationships and how to make them better. Part of…
