Where Does True Success Come From?
Ok. Now that we have an overview of our vision statement to Go NOW And . . . together with the idea of the stages of change that a person will naturally go through when considering Christ, now what do we do? For the next several sermons we will be looking at the stages of change and the stimuli of the statement from Ellen While about where true success comes from.
Doing so, my hope and prayer is that you will be able to see yourself living the very actions that will make a transformation change in the people you come in contact with. A great impact on lives is the goal. Remember, the first stage of change is pre-contemplation. Connected with this reality is the stimulus of mingling with people. How, what, and why should we mingle are the questions we will discuss in our time together.
C. S. Lewis once state this profound thought, “Don’t shine so that others can see you. Shine so that, through you, others can see Him.” We will learn principles that will help your mingling with people shine so that people can see Him! Remember that principles will inform your practice. Therefore having a clear understanding of the principles of mingling will help you practice things that will be redemptive and not destructive.
Mel Lawrenz, a Christian thought contributor, once stated, “The only enduring influence we have to offer others is the influence God has in our own lives.” Thinking deeply on this thought, one is led to understand that your person relationship with Jesus will make a significant difference in the lives of all those you come in contact with. I desire to make an impact for good, I hope you do as well.
So, as you listen to the sermon thought today, (Milton church), take notes, think things through, and most importantly . . . apply that which is necessary for you to apply. It’s time to put our vision for our church to work. It’s time to Go NOW And . . . MINGLE!
So, until the next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thought do change lives!

I remember my brother telling me, “It’s time for you to get a job, Howard.” A job? I was in high school, why did I need a job? No amount of reasoning could have swayed my brother. A job is what I needed, and a job was what I would get. There was one major problem…

How hard is it for you to be humble? When a person is ignorant on a subject . . . humility is the natural outcome. However, adding knowledge of a subject and humility becomes impossible! I believe it was H. M.S. Richards who once stated, “I don’t have a problem being humble with a mechanic…

Ah, the sweet sound of music. Just the other day I picked up my guitar and started strumming some songs I haven’t played in a very long time. As I set the guitar down, my son Isaiah came down from his room, grabbed my guitar from where I laid it down, and handed me the…

Here is what recovery means: a return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength. When a person experiences a broken state of health, mind or strength . . . finding healing, experiencing recovery from that state becomes an obsession. Why is that? Why does a human being look for homeostasis? Homeostasis is: the…

A legend is told, which I heard when I first became a Christian . . . It was about a man driving down a lone country road, when all of a sudden from his rearview mirror he caught sight of a semi-truck racing down the road. Without any hesitation on the part of the truck…

The title of the sermon seems ominous . . doesn’t it? With the political climate of our society, we have seen what a unified effort of division looks like. We have seen the damage a unified effort to divide something can have on American society. I am not a political preacher. Prophetic preaching is really…

Have you ever been proud of something? A child? A promotion at work? A huge accomplishment in your life? Being proud of something is never the problem. Missions. How familiar are you with the history of missions in the Seventh-day Adventist Church? In an Adventist World Mission article, we find the following: the first official Adventist missionary, J. N. Andrews, found his mission field in Europe in 1874. But before him there had been other “unofficial” Adventist missionaries – lay people who, on…

It’s Communion Sabbath once more. A time to reflect, to ponder, to consider the path of your spiritual life. A time to realize that the way you have been walking, living, and acting needs to be reevaluated in the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that a time to do those things…

Uncertainty is hard. Like when you’ve taken your written exam for your license and you wait to see if you passed. Or when you’ve asked someone for a dinner date, and you have no idea how they will respond! Uncertainty is hard. What makes it hard is really not knowing the outcome of whatever you…
