It’s so incredible to me that it’s November. For me, November marks that change in our time and impact on our day. Tomorrow, November 2, 2025, our time will fall backwards. The saying is, “Spring forward, fall back . . .” There is something melancholic about this time of year. Perhaps it has to do with how early darkness comes during out day.
When I lived in Anchorage, Alaska, during the winter months, we would have about two hours of daylight. On many occasion, those hours of daylight were when I was in school. So, I went to school when it was dark and got out of school when it was dark. It was weird living that way.
While living in our valley is not the same, the time change doses create memories for me. For some, early darkness can cause deep depression. For others, a welcome reality. There is something that lifts the spirits of the human during this time. . . music! Listen to this thought, “Where word leave off, music begins.” Heinrich Heine.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow shares Heinrich’s sentiments with this thought, “Music is the universal language of mankind.” This Sabbath, we are gifted to have WWVA youth musicians with us! We will hear music that will lift our spirits to the heights of our Master Jesus.
May you be lifted up today. May you realize that though this time of the years may be melancholic, you don’t have to continue this way. Music will lift you up to the heights of our Master Jesus. May you experience that today!
So, until the next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives!
