How powerful is the testimony of one person? David A. Bednar, an American Clergyman, pinned "Testimony is the beginning of and a prerequisite to continuing conversion. Testimony is a point of departure; it is not an ultimate destination. Strong testimony is the foundation upon which conversion is established. Testimony alone is not and will not be enough to protect us in the latter-day storm of darkness and evil in which we are living."
It's a truism that a testimony is a point of departure from what was to what is becoming. It is not the end of the journey, but a continual revelation of the power of God in the life of a human being. Having an understanding that we serve, worship, and love a personal God is crucial for our spiritual development and connection . If the God of the Universe was distant and uninvolved in the lives of His creation, then we would have reason to not desire nor love this God. A distant God becomes a point to direct our hate.
In old manuscripts, written around the turn of the 20th century, we read, "Every soul that develops a righteous character and withstands the power of the wicked one is a testimony to the falsehood of Satan's charges against the divine government. Through the eternal ages the exaltation of the redeemed will be a testimony to God's love and mercy." - 16LtMs, Ms 141, 1901, par. 11
How do we develop a righteous character and how do we withstand the power of the wicked one? By having . . . "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee." Ps 119:11, KJV This Sabbath day, listen to the story of one person's journey of their encounter with the Master. As you listen . . . what is your testimony? What can you share with someone today that will forever change their lives?
So, until the next time, this is Pastor Howard Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives!
