Does God See Everything?

I used to think that my mother had eyes on the back of her head! When I was a boy, I remember my younger brother and I doing many things that would create a lot of stress for my poor mother. And no matter how sneaky we tried to be, my mother always knew it was us. When my parents would have family reunions at our house, my brother and I would play a game we called Sneaky.

The purpose of the game is to sneak into the house unnoticed by the adults and take things without getting caught. The items would vary from food to jewelry to soda. Whenever we would sneak inside and do something bad, my mother always knew it was us. How? We never knew. We believed that my mother had eyes on the back of her head! She could see everything!

While this was fun to experience with my mother, I've often wondered if the same is true with God. Does God see everything? Does He have eyes on the back of His head? Does He see me when I hurt? When I'm in emotional pain? When I don't want to live any longer? Does God really see me? In the Bible there are over 900 names for God. Of the 900 names of God, there is only one name that is given by a person. God calls Himself many things, but this person is the only person EVER to have named God!

The name given to God by this person has forever been etched in the heart and has encouraged all who have read about this name given to God. Who is this person? Who is the only person in the entire Bible to have named God? Why did he name God? What significance does this story of this person hold for you and me today? May you, this Sabbath, realize what this person realized . . . that God does see everything and promises more than you could ever want or desire!

So, until the next time, this is Pastor Tello reminding you that thoughts do change lives!
